Watchdog Foundation Urges MMRDA To Add Fans At Stations

A commuter group says some Mumbai Metro stations are too hot and poorly ventilated.

The trains have air conditioning, but many places where people wait do not have enough cooling.

This can be especially uncomfortable during hot and humid weather.

The group wants fans or other systems to move air around the stations.

It says older people, children, women, people with disabilities and passengers carrying luggage may suffer the most.

The group has asked officials to check every station.

It also wants the equipment installed safely without disrupting Metro operations.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority has been asked to explain what it will do and when.
