75% of India's New SIP Investors Quit Early
In India, many people are starting to invest money regularly through something called SIPs.
But a big problem is that most of these new investors stop their investments very quickly.
In October 2025, India had a record amount of money coming into these SIPs, but 75% of the new investors quit within a short time.
Experts say this is happening because it's too easy to stop investing with just a tap on a phone, the stock market is going up and down a lot, and people are trying to pick the best investments instead of staying invested for the long term.
This means that even though more people are saving money, they're not really becoming successful investors yet.
India saw a record Rs29,529 crore in monthly SIP inflows in October 2025.
75% of new SIP accounts were paused or discontinued, totaling 45 lakh out of 60 lakh new accounts.
Fintech convenience has made it too easy for investors to quit SIPs impulsively.
Market volatility leads to investors stopping SIPs during market dips, locking in losses.
Investors are frequently switching funds to chase returns, missing out on long-term gains.
