Supreme Court to Review Satya Niketan Collapse Issues

Supreme Court to Review Satya Niketan Collapse Issues

A building used as a student hostel collapsed in Satya Niketan, Delhi.

Seven people died and five were injured.

The Supreme Court will discuss the incident and related safety concerns on September 10.

Lawyers asked the court to inspect student hostels and paying guest homes across Delhi.

These inspections would check building plans, construction, fire safety and safe exits.

The Delhi High Court has already ordered an investigation by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

It said government agencies may have failed to take enough safety measures.

The exact reason for the collapse is still being investigated.

Early information points to construction work and waterlogging near the basement.

The building owner and his family members were arrested, and five municipal officials were suspended.
