Microsoft Surges, Meta Falls Amid AI Spending Concerns
Microsoft’s stock jumped about 15% after it announced good earnings, especially from its cloud services that help people use AI.
Meta’s stock fell about 9% because it didn’t make as much profit as expected and spent a lot on AI projects.

The Nasdaq, a big stock index, went up 2.1%, and the S&P 500 and Dow also rose a little.
A Wells Fargo analyst said that even though there is some short‑term uncertainty, the overall outlook for U.S. stocks is still good because companies are earning well and the economy is strong.
Microsoft shares rose 15.2% after earnings, driven by Azure cloud growth and AI adoption.
Meta shares fell 9% after missing profit targets and reporting $42B in costs, 55% YoY increase.
Investors worry about large AI spending, with $725B capex projected across tech giants this year.
Nasdaq 100 climbed 2.1%, S&P 500 up 0.9%, Dow 0.6% as tech stocks boosted the market.
Sameer Samana of Wells Fargo said U.S. equities outlook remains constructive despite volatility.
