Ministry Urges Waste Segregation Ahead of Gandhi Jayanti

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs wants people to sort their waste before giving it to collectors.

This helps keep cities cleaner.

There are four main groups of household waste.

Wet waste includes food leftovers and fruit or vegetable peels.

Dry waste includes paper and plastic.

Used sanitary products belong in a separate group.

Batteries and expired medicines need special care because they can be harmful when mixed with other rubbish.

The campaign says, “Sort it right.

Keep it clean.”

It was shared before Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 to encourage cleanliness and civic responsibility.
