Cipla Q3 Profit Dips 57% Due to Lanreotide Production Halt
Cipla, a company that makes medicines, had a big drop in its profit for the third quarter of 2025.
This happened because they had to stop making a medicine called Lanreotide, which is used to treat a growth hormone disorder.
The stop happened because of some issues found by a US health authority at their partner's factory in Greece.
The company's leaders said they are working to fix the problems and expect to start making Lanreotide again in the first half of 2027.
They also mentioned that they have other new medicines coming out to help make up for the loss.
Cipla made a lot of money from other medicines and in different parts of the world, like India and North America.
They also spent money on researching and developing new medicines.
Cipla's Q3 net profit dipped 57% to ₹676 crore due to a halt in Lanreotide production.
The production halt followed US FDA observations at partner Pharmathen's facility in Greece.
Lanreotide is one of Cipla's top three products in the US market, used to treat growth hormone disorders.
Cipla's global revenues for Q3 were ₹7,074 crore, with North America contributing $167 million.
The company plans to launch new products to offset the impact of the Lanreotide production halt.
