Report: India's Africa Engagement Focuses on Capacity-Building, Not Extraction
India is helping countries in Africa in a special way.
A new report says India wants to help Africa become stronger on its own.
India is not just taking things out of Africa.
It sends food, medicine, and helps people hurt in conflicts.
India also gives scholarships so Africans can become engineers, doctors, and diplomats.
Trade between India and Africa is very big, around 93 billion dollars.
India invests money in African phone networks, energy, and medicine.
India is also building schools, like an IIT campus in Zanzibar.
The report says this can be a good example of two partners helping each other.
It calls the partnership useful, even if not perfect.
A report by India Narrative says India's engagement with Africa focuses on capacity-building rather than resource extraction.
India-Africa bilateral trade has climbed to around $93 billion, placing India among the continent's largest trading partners.
Indian investment in Africa exceeds $80 billion across telecoms, energy, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and digital services.
More than 80,000 Africans benefited from scholarship and training programmes in the past decade.
Over 190 lines of credit worth over $10 billion have financed projects from power plants to water systems.
