Maruti Suzuki Q1 Profit Falls 9% Amid Rising Costs
Maruti Suzuki India is the biggest car company in India.
In the first quarter of its 2027 financial year, it made less money than the same time last year, losing about 9% of its profit.
This happened because the cost of the parts it uses went up a lot.
Even though it sold more cars than before, the extra costs made the profit smaller.
The company still sold a record number of cars and plans to use clean energy by starting four new biogas projects.
Net profit fell 9.1% YoY to ₹3,447 crore in Q1 FY27.
Revenue rose 36% to ₹52,469 crore, driven by domestic sales and exports.
Total expenses jumped 40.5% to ₹50,000 crore, with raw material costs up 45.9% to ₹32,013 crore.
Vehicle sales hit an all‑time high of 682,724 units, with domestic market share rising to 41.2%.
Board approved four compressed biogas projects in the first phase, investing ₹5,610 crore.
