Madhya Pradesh Has ₹50,000 Crore Borrowing Capacity Remaining
Madhya Pradesh is allowed to borrow up to ₹87,000 crore this financial year.
It has already borrowed ₹37,400 crore, so about ₹50,000 crore of that limit remains.
The state says it borrows mainly to build things that can help people, such as roads, dams, canals and electricity infrastructure.
It says it does not take separate loans to pay salaries or fund the Ladli Behana scheme.
The government plans to spend more than ₹1 lakh crore on development works this year, using its own money and borrowed funds.
It also says it has repaid all loans from previous years without missing payments.
The state reports that its debt and interest-payment ratios are within what it considers secure levels.
Madhya Pradesh has used ₹37,400 crore of its ₹87,000 crore borrowing limit this financial year.
The state says it can borrow about ₹50,000 crore during the remaining months of the year.
The government says borrowing is mainly used for development projects and capital assets, not routine revenue spending.
It plans to spend more than ₹1 lakh crore this year on roads, dams, electricity and canal construction.
The government reports a debt-to-GSDP ratio of 32.53% and an interest-payment-to-revenue-receipts ratio of 10–11%.
