Vedanta Demerges Real Estate Into New Listed Company
Vedanta Ltd, a big Indian company, decided to split off its real‑estate part into a new company called Vedanta Property Platforms Ltd.
If you own 20 shares of Vedanta, you will get 1 share of the new company.
The new company will own about 2,200 acres of land and some buildings.
This move follows a previous split that made separate companies for oil, gas, aluminium, power and steel.
The split is meant to make the real‑estate part run better and bring more value to investors.
Vedanta Ltd will demerge its real‑estate assets into a new listed company, Vedanta Property Platforms Ltd (VPPL).
Shareholders will receive one VPPL share for every 20 Vedanta shares, with no change to the parent’s shareholding pattern.
The demerged assets include about 2,200 acres of industrial land and roughly 55,000 sq ft of residential/commercial property.
The move follows a recent five‑way split that created separate entities for oil & gas, aluminium, power and steel.
Vedanta’s Q1 profit rose 72% YoY to ₹5,473 crore, and the company’s share price closed at ₹267.60.
