Malaysia National Day Flypast Prompts KLIA Flight Retimings
Malaysia is preparing a flypast for its National Day celebrations.
To make the flypast possible, some airspace near Kuala Lumpur will temporarily close.
This may change the times of some Malaysia Airlines flights.
The affected flights use Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1.
Passengers will be told if their flights are changed.
They should check the airline’s website or app before leaving home.
People traveling during the busy school holiday period should arrive four hours early.
Malaysia celebrates National Day every August 31 to remember independence from British rule in 1957.
Malaysia’s Civil Aviation Authority announced temporary airspace closures for the 2026 National Day flypast.
Selected Malaysia Airlines flights arriving at and departing from KLIA Terminal 1 will be retimed.
Affected passengers will be notified through their registered contact details.
Passengers are advised to check flight status on the Malaysia Airlines website or mobile app.
Travelers departing during the August 26–September 6 peak period should arrive at least four hours early.
