Mumbai Railways Announce Sunday Mega Blocks and Service Changes
Mumbai’s train companies are doing repair and maintenance work on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
Because of this work, some local trains will use different tracks or stop at different stations.
The Central Railway will block slow tracks between CSMT and Vidyavihar during the day.
Some Harbour Line trains between Kurla and Vashi will not run for several hours.
Special trains will operate on some sections to help passengers.
Passengers may also use the Thane–Vashi–Nerul route during the Harbour Line block.
Western Railway will carry out overnight work between Borivali and Bhayandar.
Some trains will be cancelled, but the specific cancellations were not listed.
A separate CSMT platform block will continue affecting some long-distance trains until September 5.
Central Railway will run a daytime mega block on the CSMT–Vidyavihar slow lines from 10:55 am to 3:55 pm on August 23, 2026.
During the Main Line block, affected slow services will use fast lines and make limited stops between CSMT, Vidyavihar and Ghatkopar.
Harbour Line services between Kurla and Vashi will be suspended from 11:10 am to 4:10 pm, with special locals and an alternative Thane–Vashi–Nerul route available.
Western Railway will conduct a four-hour Jumbo Block between Borivali and Bhayandar overnight from 12:30 am to 4:30 am, with some services cancelled.
The CSMT Platform 16 traffic and power block has been extended until September 5, causing some Mail/Express trains to short-terminate at Dadar or Thane.
