Bhopal Slaughterhouse Sealed Over Banned Cow Meat
In Bhopal, a slaughterhouse was closed down after a report proved that a truck was carrying meat from cows, which is not allowed.
Some people who follow Hindu beliefs stopped the truck near the police station and said the meat was being sent to different places, even outside the country.
The police took the truck and the meat, which was a lot—26.5 tonnes!
They sent samples to a special lab to check.
The lab said the meat was indeed from cows.
The person who runs the slaughterhouse and the truck driver were questioned.
The police are still looking into how the meat was being sent and who else might be involved.
Many people gathered when the slaughterhouse was closed, and they wanted the police to take strong action.
Bhopal Municipal Corporation sealed a slaughterhouse at Jinsi Crossing after a forensic report confirmed the presence of banned cow meat in a seized container.
The incident occurred on December 17, 2023, when Hindu activists intercepted a container suspected of carrying cow meat near the Police Headquarters.
The container was carrying 26.5 tonnes of meat, and samples were sent to a forensic laboratory in Mathura for examination.
The slaughterhouse operator, Aslam Qureshi, and the container driver, Shoaib, have been taken into custody for questioning.
A case has been registered under the Madhya Pradesh Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act, 2004, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the operator, the driver, and another person.
