Telangana Waqf Board Chairman's Powers Curtailed
The Telangana Waqf Board chairman Azmatullah has had his powers reduced.
The CEO, Md.
Asadullah, is now allowed to sign cheques for staff salaries.
This change was made because the chairman and CEO were arguing, which caused delays in paying salaries.
The CEO can also handle legal matters now.
A board member said this is a good change because it will help the board function better.
However, there is still some confusion about the CEO's own salary, which will be discussed in a future meeting.
The Telangana Waqf Board chairman Azmatullah's powers have been reduced, and the CEO Md. Asadullah is now authorized to disburse staff salaries.
The decision was made due to ongoing disputes between the chairman and CEO that delayed salary payments, including those for October and November.
The CEO can now sign cheques and take legal actions to ensure smooth operations of the board.
A board member welcomed the move, calling it an administrative reform that will improve the board's functioning.
The matter of the CEO's own salary remains unclear and will be addressed in a forthcoming board meeting.
