Omar Abdullah quotes Robert Frost on Article 370 abrogation anniversary
There is a leader named Omar Abdullah who is the chief minister of a place in India called Jammu and Kashmir.
A chief minister is like the boss of that region.
A special day recently came — it has been seven years since the rules for Jammu and Kashmir were changed.
Those rules were called Article 370 and Article 35A.
To talk about this day, Omar Abdullah shared lines from a poem by an American poet named Robert Frost.
The poem says the woods are lovely, but the writer has promises to keep and miles to go before he sleeps.
Omar Abdullah said that, after seven years, people in Jammu and Kashmir have not forgotten and have not accepted what happened.
He said his party still wants to undo the changes that took away the region's rights.
He also said these changes threaten the identity of Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah marked the seventh anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A by quoting American poet Robert Frost.
He shared the lines: "The woods are lovely, dark & deep. But I have promises to keep. And miles to go before I sleep…"
Abdullah said that in these seven years "we haven't forgotten and we haven't reconciled, far less accepted our current circumstances."
He stated his party remains committed to "reversing all that was done to J&K that took away our rights and threatens our identity."
Abdullah is in his second year as the first Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
