Nifty Weekly Expiry: Kotak Suggests Short Strangle Strategy
The Nifty50 index had a big jump on Monday, closing at 23,995.95.
The Nifty Bank index also went up, ending at 57,087.20.
The India VIX, which measures how volatile the market is, went down by 10%.
Sahaj Agrawal from Kotak Securities says the market is still positive, but the big jump might keep the index from moving too much before the weekly expiry.
He suggests a strategy called a 'short strangle' to make money from the time decay.
This involves selling a 24,250 call and a 23,750 put on Nifty, with a stop loss at Rs 33.
Nifty50 surged 228.50 points to close at 23,995.95 on Monday.
Nifty Bank index rose 393.70 points to end at 57,087.20.
India VIX dropped 10% to 12.66 levels.
Open Interest is high at 23,900 and 24,000 Put strikes, and 24,200 Call strike.
