Delhi Police Families Claim Mob Attack During CJP Protest
A group of students in Delhi staged a protest called the Cockroach Janata Party protest.
Some police officers were on duty there.
Families of those officers say that a crowd attacked them, pulling one officer and almost lynching him.
The injured officer was taken to a hospital and had stitches on his head.
The families went to the Supreme Court to ask for help and said the attackers were also trying to get legal protection for themselves.
The incident made people worry about how police are treated during protests.
Families of Delhi Police officers claim they were violently attacked by a mob near Jantar Mantar during the July 20 CJP protest.
The protest, organized by the Cockroach Janata Party, demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
An injured officer was hospitalized at RML Hospital, receiving four stitches on his head and remaining unconscious for about four hours.
Families filed a plea with the Supreme Court, asserting their right to justice and alleging that attackers were seeking legal protection for themselves.
