Is Vomiting the Body's Defence Mechanism? Experts Weigh In

Our bodies sometimes throw up, and two experts have different ideas about why.

One expert, a nutritionist named Dimple Jangda, says vomiting is like an alarm system that helps push out bad things we ate.

She says when you feel sick to your stomach, it is your body trying to protect you.

Another expert, a dietitian named Dr Sneha, agrees vomiting can help, but not every time you throw up is because of poison.

She says people can vomit because of headaches, pregnancy, medicine, or other health problems.

Dr Sneha also says there is no proof that stopping your nausea makes bad things come out another way.

She thinks medicine to stop vomiting is safe when doctors say it is okay.

Both experts say throwing up too much can make you lose water and important body salts.

They agree that if someone throws up a lot, has a fever, or has blood in their vomit, they should see a doctor right away.
