Experts Urge Ban on Cigarette Filters: Harmful and Polluting
Cigarette filters, made of plastic, were meant to make smoking seem safer, but they don't help and may even be worse.
They're the most littered item, polluting oceans and land.
Even filters labeled "biodegradable" still cause pollution.
Experts want to ban them to cut down on plastic waste and make cigarettes less appealing.
World leaders are discussing this in Geneva to create rules about plastic waste.
Banning filters wouldn't fix everything, but it's a step towards protecting our health and the environment.
