Govt Sources Clear Air on Ram Temple Security and Costs
The Ram Mandir is a very special temple in India that many people visit.
Visitors give money and precious gifts to the temple.
Some people wondered if this money and the valuable gifts were being handled safely.
Government officials recently explained how everything works.
They said the temple trust only watches over the donations and does not count the money itself.
A big company called Larsen & Toubro bought the materials used to build the temple.
The State Bank of India, with the help of security guards, counts the money people donate.
Precious gifts like silver bricks and special idols are kept in safe lockers and checked twice every year.
Officials said claims that gold or silver went missing are not true.
They also added more security, like stricter checks and guards watching camera footage all day.
Government sources said the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust plays only an observational role in daily cash handling and material purchases at the Ram Mandir.
Construction material purchases totalling approximately Rs 1,861 crore were handled entirely by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) under technical supervision of IIT Roorkee, IIT Madras, CBRI, and Tata Consulting Engineers.
Under a formal MoU with the State Bank of India (SBI), physical counting of cash at the Public Facilitation Centre is handled by SBI and its contracted security agency, Sainik Security Services.
Claims of missing gold or silver offerings were dismissed as baseless, as precious metal offerings are kept in register-backed, joint-custody lockers with physical re-verification every six months.
Following a breach by external counting staff, security was hardened with pocket-less uniforms, multi-tier physical frisking, and 24x7 police access to CCTV feeds.
