MP Lokayukta finds assets 258% above officer's income

The Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta conducted raids at nine locations in Indore, Dhar, and Morena to investigate a senior finance officer suspected of having assets much higher than his income.

The officer, who has been in government service for 33 years, earned about Rs 2 crore in net salary.

However, the investigation found assets worth over Rs 6.5 crore in the officer's and his family's names.

After accounting for expenses, the total outgo was estimated at Rs 7.16 crore, indicating assets 258% higher than his known income.

The raids uncovered various properties, including houses, industrial plots, and business entities.

The investigation is ongoing, and the value of the alleged disproportionate assets may increase after further scrutiny.
