Bumrah Ruled Out of Sri Lanka Tests Due to Knee Injury
Jasprit Bumrah is a fast bowler for India.
He hurt his knee while playing a game in England.
Because of the injury, doctors say he needs more time to heal.
So he will not play in the two Test matches India will play in Sri Lanka.
The team will have to find other bowlers to replace him, and this could make it harder for India to win the series.
Jasprit Bumrah, India's premier fast bowler, will miss the two-Test series in Sri Lanka starting Aug 15 due to a knee injury sustained in the England ODI series.
The injury, an impact injury in Cardiff on July 16, has caused swelling and discomfort; he has not bowled a ball at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
BCCI medical staff have opted for a cautious approach, prioritizing long-term fitness over a rushed return, and have not cleared him for the Tests.
Replacement options include Auqib Nabi, Yash Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Gurnoor Brar, while other squad members such as Washington Sundar, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Harshit Rana are also injured.
The series is crucial for India's World Test Championship hopes, and the absence of Bumrah is seen as a significant blow to the team's bowling attack.
