Thailand Launches Destination Visa for Digital Nomads
Thailand is now making it easier for people who work remotely to live there.
They've created a special visa called the Destination Thailand Visa, or DTV.
This visa lets digital nomads stay in Thailand for up to five years, with the possibility of staying for almost a year on one entry.
To get this visa, you need to be at least 20 years old, have money in the bank, and work for a company outside of Thailand or be self-employed.
You can apply online or at a Thai embassy, and it takes about a month or two to get approved.
The visa costs a fee and covers things like healthcare and allows access to banking.
If you stay less than 180 days, you don't pay Thai taxes on your income, but if you stay longer, you might have to.
Thailand launched the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) for digital nomads.
The DTV allows multiple entries and a stay of up to 180 days (extendable by 180).
Applicants must meet age, financial, and employment criteria to apply.
Applications can be submitted online or in person.
