Chhattisgarh Announces State Capital Region for Growth
Chhattisgarh is creating a special area called the State Capital Region (SCR) around Raipur, like a bigger city with different parts.
This plan includes Raipur, Durg-Bhilai, and Nava Raipur.
The government wants to make this area better for living, working, and traveling, so they are setting up a special team called CRDA to oversee the project.
The goal is to manage growth, build new things like roads and maybe even a subway, and make the area a center for business.
They are also setting up a fund to pay for all of this.
Chhattisgarh plans to develop Raipur and surrounding areas as a State Capital Region (SCR).
The SCR aims to integrate Raipur, Durg-Bhilai, and Nava Raipur Atal Nagar under a unified development plan.
The state assembly passed a bill to establish the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA).
The CRDA will be led by the Chief Minister and will include various ministers and officials.
A ₹5 crore budget is allocated for the SCR office and a feasibility study for a Metro rail link.
