Shilpa Shinde Appointed CMD of WAPCOS
The Indian government has appointed a new leader for WAPCOS, a water and power consulting company.
Shilpa Sachin Shinde, an IAS officer, will take over as the new CMD for five years.
This decision was made after the previous CMD, Rajni Kant Agrawal, was removed.
The removal followed complaints of mismanagement including delayed payments, non-payment of allowances and a shift away from the company's core consultancy business toward construction projects.
The Jal Shakti Ministry made the appointment directly, skipping the usual process.

The appointment was made by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC).
