AAP Skips INDIA Bloc Meet, Challenges Electoral Roll Exercise

AAP Skips INDIA Bloc Meet, Challenges Electoral Roll Exercise

The Aam Aadmi Party, or AAP, said it would not join a meeting of opposition parties.

Its leader Sanjay Singh said AAP is no longer part of the INDIA bloc.

The meeting was about concerns over how voter lists are being checked and changed.

Singh said many people may have lost their names on the voter lists.

He claimed that 27 lakh voters in West Bengal were affected.

He also alleged that 13.37 crore names were removed across India.

Singh criticized changes to a form used to add people to voter lists.

Other opposition parties met in New Delhi to plan a joint protest.

AAP is staying outside the alliance but supports some of the same concerns.
