Pope Leo to Spend July and August in Castel Gandolfo
Pope Leo, the new leader of the Catholic Church, is taking a break from the hot Roman summer.
He'll be heading to Castel Gandolfo, a cooler town nearby, for most of July.
This is a tradition many popes followed, but the previous pope, Francis, stayed in Rome.
During his time away, Pope Leo's meetings will be paused.
He'll also visit Castel Gandolfo again in August.
Castel Gandolfo has a papal palace, gardens, and a farm.
Pope Leo will spend July in Castel Gandolfo to escape the Roman heat.
The Pope's public and private audiences are suspended from July 2 to July 23.
This summer tradition of escaping Rome was broken by Pope Francis.
Leo will also visit Castel Gandolfo for the weekend of August 15-17.
Castel Gandolfo is about an hour's drive south of Rome.
