India Announces ₹17 Trillion PPP Projects
The Indian government has announced a big plan to build many new infrastructure projects, like roads, energy plants, and ports.
These projects will cost a lot of money, about ₹17 trillion, and will be built with help from private companies.
The government wants to make it easier for investors to know about these projects so they can plan and invest better.
Most of the projects are roads and highways, but there are also projects for energy, water, and shipping.
The government hopes that these projects will help India grow and become a stronger economy.
The Union Finance Ministry announced 852 infrastructure projects under the PPP model, costing ₹17 trillion.
Highways dominate the projects, with 108 projects costing ₹8.76 trillion.
Central government ministries account for ₹13 trillion of the investment, while states and UTs account for ₹4 trillion.
Projects include energy, transportation, logistics, social and commercial infrastructure, water, and sanitation.
The announcement follows the Union Budget for FY26, which aimed to provide early visibility of PPP projects for investors.
