Dog Day Afternoon Broadway Debut Announced

Imagine a play about a bank robbery that goes horribly wrong.

That's 'Dog Day Afternoon'!

It's based on a true story from 1972 when a man tried to rob a bank in Brooklyn.

The play will star Jon Bernthal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

It is directed by Rupert Goold, who has won awards for his work.

It will start with previews in March 2026 and officially open at the August Wilson Theatre.

This story is adapted from the 1975 movie.
