Mumbai Mother Finds Her Own Version of Present Parenting

Mumbai Mother Finds Her Own Version of Present Parenting

Merlyn D’souza works and is also a mother to two young children.

She learned that a mother does not have to be perfect to be loving.

Her husband and in-laws help care for the children while she is at work.

When she gets home, she tries to give her children her attention.

She listens to her daughter’s stories and plays with her.

Her baby son often enjoys being held close.

Merlyn says parents should let children feel their feelings instead of using fear or hitting.

She also rests when she needs to and does not compare her family with others.

For her, small moments together are enough.
