Assam Elections, Akali Dal Changes, Uranium Discovery, and France-China Nuclear Deal

On December 16, 1985, a big election was happening in Assam, India, where people were voting to choose their leaders.

Over 1.5 crore voters were involved.

In Punjab, the Akali Dal party made some big changes.

They elected Surjit Singh Barnala as their president and kicked out Balbir Singh Brar.

Meanwhile, scientists found a lot of uranium in the West Khasi Hills in Meghalaya.

This is important because uranium can be used to make power.

Also, France and China agreed to build a big nuclear power station in China.

This project will cost a lot of money, about 20 billion francs.
