Samsung Cuts US Jobs Ahead of HQ Move
Samsung, a big tech company from South Korea, is moving its main office in the U.S. from New Jersey to Texas.
Because of this move, they had to let go of some workers and offer others the chance to move to Texas.
About 739 jobs in New Jersey and 100 jobs in Texas were affected.
Most people were offered the chance to move, but some were let go.
The company said this in a statement to a news agency called Reuters.
Employees are worried that more jobs might be cut in the future.
Samsung Electronics is cutting jobs in its U.S. display, phone, and other consumer electronics operations.
739 roles in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, are affected by the move of Samsung Electronics America's headquarters to Texas.
A majority of affected employees have received relocation offers, but some have been let go.
Around 100 workers, including staff in the mobile division, have been laid off at the Plano, Texas office.
Samsung has 11,770 employees in the United States as of the end of 2025, including workers in its chip division.
