Russia Reports HAL Has Half Capacity for Su-57 Production
Imagine India and Russia are talking about making a cool new stealth airplane, the Su-57, together in India.
Russia sent some experts to check India's airplane factory, called HAL.
These experts said that HAL is already about halfway ready to build these planes.
Now, HAL is trying to figure out how much more money and work it will take to build all of them.
This is happening because the Russian President is visiting India soon, and they might talk more about working together.
Russia also said they can help India build its own new fighter jet by sharing what they know from making the Su-57.
HAL's findings will be shared with India's defense government.
A Russian delegation reported that HAL possesses approximately 50% of the capacity needed for domestic Su-57 stealth fighter production.
Russian technical teams inspected HAL facilities in Nashik, Koraput, and Kasaragod in September.
HAL is currently assessing the investment required for full-scale Su-57E production and will report to the Ministry of Defence.
The report was submitted ahead of Russian President Putin's visit to India in early December.
Russia has offered to support India's indigenous AMCA program using Su-57 production knowledge.
