Sergio Gor Critiques India’s Raucous Television News Culture
Sergio Gor is the United States ambassador who spoke at an event in New Delhi.
He said Indian television news becomes more chaotic as the night goes on.
He described programs where many people argue at the same time.
Gor also said some reports on Indian channels seemed especially inaccurate to him.
Some people on social media criticized his comments.
He then told a story about a meeting between Narendra Modi and Donald Trump.
The Indian side had reportedly wanted journalists to attend without asking questions.
Trump invited questions anyway, and the meeting became a much longer press session.
