Doha Film Institute to Fund Upcoming Films by Multiple Directors
The Doha Film Institute is giving money to help make 45 different movies.
These movies come from all over the world and include stories about people in different places, like Lebanon, Iraq, and Palestine.
Some of these movies might even be shown at big film festivals like Cannes.
The institute wants to help filmmakers tell important stories that show different points of view.
They hope these movies will help people understand each other better, especially during tough times.
Doha Film Institute (DFI) will fund 45 film projects from 35 territories in its 2025 Spring Grants cycle.
The funding includes feature films from Cyril Aris, Meryem Benm’Barek, Danielle Arbid, Ahmed Yassin Al-Daradji, and A.J. Al-Thani.
DFI is also supporting Cannes 2025 titles by Arab Nasser/Tarzan Nasser and Chie Hayakawa.
Feature documentaries by Kamal Aljafari and Tala Hadid are among the recipients.
The grants aim to support original stories and diverse voices, offering perspectives in times of conflict.
