Bijnor DM's Home Attached Over Unpaid Farmer Compensation
A court in Moradabad ordered the attachment of the official home of Jasjit Kaur, the District Magistrate of Bijnor, because the government did not pay a farmer for his land on time.
The farmer, Umesh, was supposed to get money for his land taken for a canal project, but the government did not pay.
The court said the DM's home can't be sold or given away until the farmer gets his money.
The DM promised to fix the problem and pay the farmer soon.
Jasjit Kaur is an IAS officer who has worked in different important jobs.
She was born in Amritsar and got a good rank in the civil services exam.
LARA court in Moradabad attached Bijnor DM Jasjit Kaur's official residence over unpaid land compensation to a farmer.
The compensation of Rs 25.23 lakh was due for 1.16 hectares of land acquired for a canal project.
The court ordered the DM to appear in person on January 9, 2026.
Jasjit Kaur assured compliance with the court's directions and immediate release of the compensation.
