Investigators are looking into a suspected cheating scheme involving government veterinary doctor jobs in Karnataka.

The jobs were being recruited through the Karnataka Public Service Commission.

Officials say 400 positions were available.

The CID alleges that 11 candidates paid a middleman large amounts of money.

The alleged payments ranged from Rs 35 lakh to Rs 80 lakh.

The Enforcement Directorate is investigating whether the money was illegally handled.

It arrested IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar and middleman Basavaraj Kannale after questioning them.
