Leicestershire Docked 27 Points Over Poor Pitch Conditions

Leicestershire Docked 27 Points Over Poor Pitch Conditions

Leicestershire is a cricket team that played a match on a pitch judged to be unsafe or poor.

The pitch had uneven bounce, and some Glamorgan batters were hit.

Leicestershire still won the match by 42 runs.

Cricket officials decided the club should lose points because of the pitch.

The decision removed 19 points from the win and added another eight-point punishment.

The club was also fined £5,000.

The groundsman said hot weather, previous matches and a Bollywood film shoot made it difficult to prepare the pitch.

The panel said the one-day film shoot did not sufficiently excuse the poor conditions.

Leicestershire is now reviewing the decision.
