Trump to Sue BBC for Up To $5 Billion Over Edited Speech
A news company called the BBC showed a video of Donald Trump speaking from a long time ago.
They changed the video to make it look like he said things that he didn't actually say, making it seem like he was telling people to cause trouble.
Mr. Trump is very upset about this and says he will sue the BBC for a lot of money, possibly up to $5 billion.
He believes the BBC cheated and deliberately changed his words to make him look bad.
The BBC said it was a mistake and apologized, but they also said it wasn't so bad that it was against the law.
They apologized but don't want to pay Mr. Trump any money.
Because of this mistake, two important people at the BBC have quit their jobs.
Mr. Trump feels he needs to sue to make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen again.
Donald Trump announced plans to sue the BBC for up to $5 billion over a misleadingly edited speech.
The BBC's 'Panorama' documentary allegedly spliced excerpts to create the impression Trump incited the January 6th Capitol riot.
Trump claims the BBC 'cheated' and 'changed the words coming out of my mouth' to create a false narrative.
The BBC admitted the edit was an 'error of judgement,' apologized personally, but denied defamation and refused financial compensation.
