Sangameswara Temple Submerged, Darshan Expected Again In March

Sangameswara Temple Submerged, Darshan Expected Again In March

The Sangameswara temple is located beside the Srisailam reservoir in Andhra Pradesh.

Much of the year, rising reservoir water covers the temple.

This means people can visit it only for a few months.

The temple was underwater again after August 1.

Devotees are expected to wait until around March 2027 to visit.

Priests continue special prayers even while the temple is submerged.

When the water goes down, the temple is cleaned and purification rituals are held.

Regular worship and darshan then begin again.
