Kerala Contractor Arrested in ₹62 Lakh Fake-Boss Cyber Fraud
Police in Navi Mumbai arrested a construction contractor from Kerala in a case involving an alleged ₹62 lakh fraud.
Someone pretending to be a company owner contacted an employee on WhatsApp and persuaded the employee to transfer money.
Police say the arrested man was not the person who made that call.
They allege he provided a bank account that was used to move some of the money.
Police traced the account to Kannur, where the contractor was arrested on October 3.
They say ₹32 lakh went into an IndusInd Bank account.
A check found the account was connected to six cybercrime complaints.
The police investigation is continuing.
