Delhi Tightens Traffic, Airspace Ahead of BRICS Summit
Delhi is making many preparations for the BRICS Summit.
Some roads will have traffic restrictions, so people are being asked to leave early or use the Metro.
Thousands of traffic officers will help manage the roads.
The airport is adding facilities to handle more international travelers.
Some aircraft, drones and other flying devices will not be allowed near Delhi for security reasons.
City agencies are cleaning roads and adding plants, flowers and decorations.
Some street vendors say they have been told to stop selling in several areas.
Their organization wants clear rules, temporary alternatives and help for lost income.
Nearly 4,800 traffic personnel and 22 diversion points have been arranged for restrictions on more than 35 Delhi roads.
Delhi airport is expanding international-processing capacity, with dedicated immigration counters and Pier C at Terminal 3 being operationalised.
Flying activities and several types of aircraft, drones and aerial vehicles will face restrictions around Delhi from September 11 to 13.
Civic agencies plan extensive cleaning, landscaping and floral displays along major roads and routes leading to Bharat Mandapam.
