Shinde Confident Mahayuti Will Win Local Body Polls
The leader of the ruling group in Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, said he believes people will vote for his team in local elections because his government has been doing a good job and focusing on building things.
He mentioned they gave a lot of money to farmers who had problems because of heavy rain.
He also said they will decide about forgiving farm loans by a date in 2026.
The other political groups, who are like rivals, held a protest because they think the lists of who can vote might be unfair.
They think the people in charge of elections aren't paying attention to problems with the lists.
Mr. Shinde dismissed the protest, saying that people vote for leaders who get things done, not for those who just march and complain.
