Mumbai Launches 'Fit Saturday' Initiative for Citywide Fitness
The city of Mumbai is starting a new program called 'Fit Saturday' to help everyone get healthier.
Every Saturday, people can join free fitness classes in parks, doing things like walking, yoga, and meditation.
The goal is to encourage people of all ages to exercise regularly.
The BMC wants to help people build healthy habits, starting with those who don't currently exercise.
They are also planning a big marathon every year in December to get even more people involved.
The program will also have special fitness activities and competitions for students to get them started with healthy habits early in life.
BMC launched the 'Fit Saturday' campaign at Bandra Fort Garden to encourage fitness.
The campaign includes weekly fitness sessions in gardens and playgrounds.
Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani emphasized the importance of regular exercise.
The initiative includes an annual half marathon on the second Sunday of December.
