South Korean Shares Dip After U.S. Trade Talks Postponed
South Korean stocks had a good start, but then the US delayed important trade talks.
This made investors nervous, so some of the earlier gains disappeared.
The KOSPI, a main stock index, still went up a bit, though.
The reason for the delay was a scheduling issue for a top US official.
Also, the value of South Korea's money, the won, went up compared to the US dollar.
Despite the market shifts, investors still bought shares overall.
South Korean shares reversed early gains due to the U.S. postponing trade talks.
The KOSPI initially rose but closed up 0.83% after the postponement.
Trade talks were delayed due to a scheduling conflict for the U.S. Treasury Secretary.
The Korean won strengthened against the dollar.
Foreigners were net buyers of shares.
