Assam Flood: Over 77,000 Still in Relief Camps, Says CM

A big flood has happened in Assam, a state in India.

Heavy rain made rivers rise and cover many homes, roads, and fields.

Because of this, more than 77,000 people had to leave their homes.

These people are now staying in safe places called relief camps, where the government gives them shelter and help.

The leader of the state, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, told people about this on Saturday using a website called X. He said the government is working hard to help everyone in the camps.

Workers are fixing roads, phone lines, and other things the flood damaged.

Officials are also watching the rivers and the walls that hold back water to make sure it stays safe.

Everyone is hoping the water will go down soon so families can go back home.

The government will keep helping until it is safe for everyone to return.
