Tripura to Become Fully Literate State, Third in India
Tripura is about to become a fully literate state, meaning almost everyone there can read and write!
This is a big deal and only two other states have done it before.
Tripura achieved this with a program that helps adults learn.
They also teach useful skills like using computers and managing money.
It wasn't always this way; many years ago, not as many people could read.
But with lots of hard work from teachers and volunteers, Tripura has made great progress.
Tripura is set to be declared a fully literate state.
The declaration will occur on Monday, following Mizoram and Goa.
Tripura's literacy rate is at 95.6% due to the 'ULLAS' program.
The state's literacy rate was 20.24% in 1961 and 87.22% in 2011.
The program focuses on functional literacy, including digital skills.
