Bengal: Red Corner notice issued against absconding stone quarry owner · thehansindia.com

In India, there is a man named Tulu Mondal who owns a stone quarry.

The police think he did something very wrong with money while an old government was in charge.

They say he may have taken about Rs 3,000 crore of government money over five years.

But the police cannot find him anywhere, so they asked a court for a special worldwide search warrant called a Red Corner notice.

A court said yes, and told Mr. Mondal to come to court by Friday, August 14.

If he does not show up, he will officially be called a 'proclaimed offender,' and his property could be taken away.

Police also found a huge amount of cash and about 15 kg of gold at the house of one of his relatives.

The relative and two other people have been arrested and are being questioned.

Some people say the police should also question the government officials who were in charge back then, not just Mr. Mondal and his friends.
