Bombay High Court Flags Fraudulent Aadhaar Use, Seeks Action

The Bombay High Court heard about foreign nationals who allegedly use fake documents to pretend to be Indian citizens.

The documents mentioned include Aadhaar cards, PAN cards and school certificates.

The court said this may happen because government agencies do not always check documents or share information effectively.

It said these fake documents can create problems for identity, immigration and national security systems.

The court wants agencies to investigate such cases quickly.

It also asked the Centre to consider changing the Aadhaar Act.

The case involves an Afghan national named Majid Khan Shah.

He allegedly used the name Miraj Tahir Khan and obtained documents that helped him get an Indian passport.

UIDAI must give his Aadhaar enrolment records to police, and immigration officials must start deportation proceedings.
