Kerala Reports New Amoebic Meningitis Cases
In Kerala, a rare brain infection called amoebic meningitis has been found in an 11-year-old girl.
This is like a tiny bug that gets into the brain through the nose.
She's now very sick and in the hospital.
Sadly, another girl died from this infection earlier.
There are now three people in the hospital with this illness.
Health officials are telling people to stay safe by avoiding dirty water and using nose clips when they swim.
This is because the infection is very dangerous, and it's important to keep the tiny bugs from getting into the brain.
An 11-year-old girl in Kerala has been diagnosed with amoebic meningitis.
The girl is receiving intensive treatment at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital and is on a ventilator.
This brings the total number of current cases to three, including a 3-month-old infant and a 40-year-old man.
